Sound Track of My Day – Love The Future

April 16, 2009

So by now I’m sure you’ve heard the buzz about the Harvard educated, Indy Pop, slightly Hip Hop sounding duo who went thru a bidding war w/ top record labels before being scooped up by Star Trak Entertainment. Yeah, Chester French. Well I got buzzed last year while scrolling thru albums on where I saw a black condom wrapper covered w/ their name. Now I don’t normally see condoms in the music section online so I had to check em out. I clicked on it and it was the single…She Loves Everybody . They killed the drum machine and electric guitar…

Fast forward to ’09; I’m currently chilling to Pleasure Squad, My Fav track on the album Love The Future that will be out on April 21st…. My Fav track off the album…

I love the album because of the quirky feeling it has, w/ a Top of the Pops, bandstand type of feel. Basically to go w/ the hype; The Beatles meet 2009. They have a similar sound in terms of the harmonies when their voices meet, and their use of the guitars and drum kit are also reminiscent of that sound and era. Interested in something more upbeat? Check out an edgier, more urban side of the duo on their free mix tape Jacques Jams, Vol. 1: Endurance HERE. It’s dripping w/ cameos from cats like Janelle Monae, Kardinal Offishall, and the Mad Rapper to throw a few names out there.

Instructions/Suggestions: Play this album Love The Future when laying in the park, walking your dog around the park, or taking a drive on one of these pretty spring days to the park. The effect of hearing it from dual speakers gives the album an extra umph because you hear all the elements! Support them when the album drops [April 21st] b/c they do have a sound that was lost somewhere in the past. Diversity is great in the music biz, keep it funky, keep it alive!
